ABOUT VTMH | Staff Profiles

The VTPU is a small organisation with the focus of its activities divided among three programs: Service, Policy and Community Development; Education and Professional Development; and Research. The Research program contributes to the content of the other two programs by providing current and local information. Currently there are five full-time and five part-time staff members.

Daryl Oehm, Manager is a registered mental health nurse with a Masters in Community Development and Management, B.A (Social Sciences) and Graducate Diploma (Education and Public Policy)

Dr. Can Tuncer

Consultant Psychiatrist, Convenor, VTPU Clinical Seminars
Dr. Can Tuncer is a consultant psychiatrist in private practice, and has been working with the Victorian Transcultural Psychiatry Unit (VTPU) since 1990.

Susan McDonough

Education and Service Development Consultant, VTPU
Susan has worked as an Occupational Therapist in a range of health and disability settings. She has worked with consumers with complex mental health problems in community and correctional settings.

Dr Nadya Kouzma

Education and Service Development Consultant, VTPU
Nadya is a registered Psychologist with a background in education program development and implementation; clinical service development and evaluation; and research.


Education and Service Development Consultant, VTPU
Harvey has a background in Psychiatric Nursing, with an Advanced Diploma in Community Psychiatry.  He worked as a Therapist in Community Mental Health Centres in New Zealand from 1979-86.

Kimberley Wriedt
Education and Service Development Consultant, VTPU 
Kimberley holds a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Hons), and has worked in the mental health field within the psychiatric disability and rehabilitation support services sector.
Evan Bichara
Consumer Advocate
Evan Bichara is the Consumer Advocate for the Victorian Transcultural Psychiatry Unit (VTPU). Evan comes from an Egyptian background and speaks Arabic and Greek fluently.

Dr Radhika Santhanam-Martin
Dr Radhika Santhanam-Martin is a Clinical Psychologist who works in the field of trauma. She has completed postdoctoral fellowship in transcultural mental health; a PhD in developmental neuropsychology; an MPhil in medical and social psychology; Masters in clinical psychology and Bachelors in Philosophy.
