Tasmanian Transcultural Mental Health, the Phoenix Centre and the Migrant Resource Centre - March 2015
Our Voices: stories from carers of migrant and refugee backgrounds
Arefa, one of the carers from the film series and Silvana from VTMH shared some of their their experiences and motivations in making the film series and offered insights into some of the things learnt and gained via the process of finding one’s own voice.
Following this, Arefa screened her film with a period of time spent answering questions and offering reflections. The session was concluded with a dramatic reading of a Sufi poem by Arefa calling on the support of mystics and our ancestors in our daily lives.
