The Health Translations Directory is an initiative from the Victorian Government of Australia. The Centre for Culture, Ethnicity and Health has been contracted by the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services to manage and improve the Directory. The Directory is designed to enable easy access to an extensive collection of translated health information.
The MHiMA project, an initiative of the Australian Government, Department of Health, is no longer operating however, its website is still accessible and includes links to translated information. Users should note that, as far as VTMH is aware, MHiMA site content is not being up-dated. The site includes links to audio files about seeking help for mental health issues; fact sheets about mental ill-health published by the National Mental Health Strategy; links to Australian directories of translated health information; translated material published by Australian and overseas agencies; translated mental health assessment tools; information about language services; and an archive of translated mental health information.
TMHC is a NSW-based state-wide service. Its translated health resources include consumer medication brochures in a number of languages containing detailed information about specific types of medications used to treat mental health disorders and illnesses, how they work, side effects, how they should be used and where to seek help if needed. The site also includes information about translated clinical assessment tools.
Please note that VTMH does not produce translated information and cannot accept responsibility for the quality of the content published by other agencies. Links to other agencies are provided for the convenience of VTMH website users. VTMH has not reviewed all the information that can be accessed by these external links.
