Working with interpreters - An online learning resource
A resource for practitioners working in a range of mental health settings, that aims to promote and enhance ways of working with interpreters.
Divided into three sections, ‘Orientate’, ‘Practice’ and ‘Steps’, the resource includes an overview of roles, policy and accreditation standards; and practice implications for the client, family, practitioner, and interpreter.
A step-by-step guide through the process from booking an interpreter to debriefing at the end of a session is also included.
VTMH reviewed and revised Working Effectively with Interpreters in Mental Health Settings, developed in 2006, when creating this new resource.
